Although improved over a year ago, Pittsburgh’s defense is still giving up over 415 yards per game. Panthers Head Coach Pat Narduzzi came to Pittsburgh with 12 years experience as a Defensive Coordinator at the FBS level. It has not helped much during his tenure in the Steel City.

Miami’s offense is averaging 442.5 yards per game this season. The ACC sixth-ranked offense will match up with the conference’s 12th ranked defense.

The Hurricanes utilize a big play offense. Head Coach Mark Richt has repeatedly said that he is patient with his offense. Particularly with the running game, the Hurricanes boss realizes that his team can struggle running the ball throughout the game, but always has the potential to break one big.

The same is true of their passing game. Quarterback Malik Rosier often struggles to find a rhythm. Accuracy is not his strong point. He has made the big throw throughout the season when needed. Rosier is blessed with one of the nation’s deepest receiving cores.

The Hurricanes have three of the ACC’s top receivers in average yards per catch. Jeff Thomas is second in the conference averaging 21.9 yards per reception. Darrell Langham fourth a 19.0 YPC and Ahmmon Richards fifth at 18.7 YPC.
