Miami Hurricanes HC Mark Richt Discusses Rosier’s Benching, ACC Championship
Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt discussed the state of his team during his weekly appearance on the Joe Rose Show on WQAM Monday morning.
Among the topics discussed by the Miami Hurricanes boss were Quarterback Malik Rosier’s benching against Pittsburgh, the outlook, and his team’s attitude entering the ACC Championship and putting the loss to the Panthers behind them.
The loss to Pittsburgh on Friday dropped Miami five spots in both the USA Today Coaches and AP Media Poll. Miami now turns their focus to Saturday’s ACC Championship against Clemson.
The loss to Pittsburgh on Friday was multi-faceted. Much of the blame was on Rosier, but the Miami Hurricanes running game was nearly non-existent in Friday’s loss. Rosier’s completion percentage was below 50 percent for the fourth time this season and the Hurricanes averaged less than two yards per carry on the ground.
Now its time to focus on Clemson. The Tigers are coming off of a victory against intra-state rival South Carolina. The Tigers eight wins over teams in ESPN’s Football Power Index is the best in the country.
Playing the defending champions is a great test for Miami this season and an indicative barometer of where the program is at the end of the second year of Mark Richt’s tenure at Miami.
