A more West Coast style in the passing game would force teams to play tighter coverage. It would also allow Rosier to better utilize the size of his receivers. It’s not an absolute, but it would allow more diversification in the passing game and make defenses have to defend a greater variety of formations, style and play calling.
Miami has also seemed to get away from the up-tempo offense that Richt wanted to install earlier this season. Against Clemson, more diversification will be needed. The Tigers have the ACC’s number one defense and second-best scoring defense.
