Special year has brought national recognition back to Miami Hurricanes
After a season-opening win over Bethune-Cookman, Hurricane Irma interrupted Miami’s season for three weeks. After over a week in Orlando, the Hurricanes finally returned home for the second game of the season on September 23 against Toledo.
While they have been criticized often on a national basis this season, the four comeback wins the Hurricanes had in September only added to the special season the Canes are having. While we may look back in the win over Florida State only being against a .500 team, for Miami the stakes against their arch rival are always high.
The teams exchanged leads four times in the fourth quarter. Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Darrell Langham made one of the most memorable plays in Miami history.
He caught a pass with six seconds left from Malik Rosier inside the five-yard line. Langham was able to twist his way into the end zone and score game-winning touchdown with six seconds left.
Langham did it again a week later against Georgia Tech. Facing a fourth and ten at the Georgia Tech 43, Rosier lofted a pass on the right sideline. Langham went up with two Yellow Jackets defenders.
