The loss of Deshawn Watson off of last year’s National Championship team has created a more balanced Clemson offense. The Tigers create a challenge for the Miami Hurricanes defense by not having one sensational player UM can focus on.

The Miami Hurricanes defense faces one of it’s biggest challenges this season against the Clemson offense. The Tigers average 243.3 yards passing per game, 215.8 on the ground and 35.2 points per game. Known more for their defense, Clemson is a respectable 25th nationally in points per game.

Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz has the Miami Hurricanes defense playing more aggressive than they did in 2016. Although they are allowing more points than last season, they have had more big plays this season.

The Miami  Hurricanes are allowing 18.3 points per game and are tied for first in the country in turnover margin. If they are going to defeat Clemson, the defense is going to have to continue to come up with big plays.

The Hurricanes need to continue to win the turnover battle, get to Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant and into the Tigers backfield for some tackles for loss.

Clemson needs to keep the turnover chain locked up and away. The turnovers and the chain allow the Hurricanes to build momentum. Jaquan Johnson has been sensational and the de facto lord of the chain. He has a turnover in six straight games.
