How does Miami Hurricanes defense matchup with Clemson Offense

The Clemson offensive line has been better run blocker than protecting the passer. The Tigers average 5.11 yards per carry, 26th nationally.

Manny Diaz might try to stack the box, let his front four get after Bryant and make him beat them. There has been a lot of talk about Clemson’s experience. Both quarterbacks are playing in their first ACC Championship game.

Miami is second in the country in tackles for loss and first in sacks. They average 8.6 TFL’s per game and 3.55 sacks per game. Trent Harris leads Miami with 8.5 sacks and is 13th nationally with 0.77 sacks per game.

Miami should be able to get after Clemson’s offensive line. They have been average protecting the passer this season. The Tigers are 53rd in the country allowing 1.83 sacks per game.

The Hurricanes rely more on a rotation of linemen than one player making a big play. Harris, Joe Jackson and Chad Thomas give Miami one of the deepest groups of defensive ends in the country.

Inside, Kendrick Norton and R.J. McIntosh are arguably the best tandem at defensive tackle nationally. We should see two of the best defensive lines in the country.
