Miami’s offensive line has allowed 22 sacks this season for an average of two per game. That’s 65th in the country. If they can keep that the number against the Tigers, it would be a victory for the Hurricanes offensive line.

Although the Hurricanes ran the ball well against Virginia Tech and Notre Dame, their three poor outings against North Carolina, Florida State and Pittsburgh have brought the numbers way down. Miami needs to have at least a serviceable game on the ground to be able to move the football.

Miami’s 164.7 rushing yards per game ranks just 65th nationally. Dabo Swinney and Venables are likely to watch the tape from the Tar Heels, Panthers and Seminoles to see how to stop the Miami rushing attack. It’s clear the way to defend the Hurricanes is to make Rosier beat you.

The most decisive stat in the game could be the turnover margin and Miami’s ability to turn their turnovers into points. The Hurricanes tied for first nationally with an advantage of 17 more turnovers than their opponents.

That could be a weak spot to exploit with the Tigers. Clemson was 48th nationally this season with just a margin of three more turnovers than their opponents. It wasn’t as much Clemson’s offense turning the ball over as it was the defense not forcing many turnovers. Miami had the same issue last season.

Both teams have stellar defenses. Miami’s offense could be the deciding factor in the ACC Championship. If the Hurricanes offense can come up with some big plays to get the Clemson defense on its heels, they will have a chance for the upset.
