Griggs threw for 1,793 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions. Smith ran for 1,321 yards and 13 touchdowns and added 370 yards on 36 receptions with two touchdowns. Robertson had 72 receptions for 1,070 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Southern Miss has done a good job of penetrating the backfield this season. The Eagles finished 11th in the country averaging 7.8 tackles for loss per game. Five players recorded at least seven TFLs for Southern Miss this season.

The Miami Hurricanes and Boston College will meet for the first time since 2012 next season. That’s a product of the oversized college athletic conferences. The Eagles also ended a seven-game losing streak to Florida State this season.

After losing four of their first six games this season, Boston College rallied to win five of their final six to qualify for a bowl game. Boston College is playing in a bowl game for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

Boston College is led offensively by their running game. A.J. Dillon has 1,432 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Dillon is a throwback running back. He did not record a single reception this season. Dillon’s backup Jon Hillman had 772 total yards and seven touchdowns.
