Awards Miami Hurricanes didn’t give out at FB awards banquet
A week later facing fourth and 11 at the Georgia Tech 43, Rosier and Langham teamed up again. The ball was deflected by the Yellow Jackets defender, hit Langham’s facemask and fell into his hands. Badgley hit the game-winning field goal four plays later.
Most Surprising player and player that stepped up the most-Travis Homer
The loss of starting running Mark Walton was a devastating blow that could have derailed most teams season. Homer stepped up in Walton’s absence and needs 93 yards rushing in the Orange Bowl against Wisconsin to reach 1,000 yards for the season.
Without Homer the Hurricanes would not have reached their 10-0 start to the season. The running back depth was so thin that Richt had to switch wide receiver DeeJay Dallas to running back. Rosier also pitched in on the ground with over 400 yards on the season.
Homer will have a battle on his hands to keep his starting job next season. The Hurricanes bring in five-star back Lorenzo Lingard as part of the Storm ’18 recruiting class. Four-star back Camron Davis is also a part of the 2018 Class.
