Miami Hurricane with the brightest future- Shaq Quarterman LB
Despite its success this season no Miami Hurricanes are ranked among the top 120 players on the CBS Sports NFL Draft board. The strength of the Miami Hurricanes could be in their Sophomore class.
Wide receiver Ahmmon Richards and linebackers Shaq Quarterman and Michael Pinckney were Freshman All-Americans in 2016. Johnson who is Junior announced earlier this month that he will be returning for his Senior season.
Miami losses eight seniors plus Junior running back Mark Walton for sure to this year’s NFL Draft. Defensive tackles R.J. McIntosh and Kendrick Norton and cornerback Michael Jackson are all said to be considering the draft.
Only three of this year’s Miami Seniors are ranked in the top ten at their position heading into the NFL Draft. Tight end Christopher Herndon is ranked sixth at tight end, defensive end Chad Thomas is ninth and kicker Michael Badgley is second.
Its debatable which Miami Hurricanes player has the brightest future. Walter Football projects Richards to be the 15th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He will have to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2017 season to maintain that status.
Shaq Quarterman has finished second on the team in tackles both of his seasons in college. He also has 16 tackles for loss, six sacks and five pass breakups in two college seasons. As it stands now with Richards injury problems Quarterman appears to have the brighest future of current Hurricanes.
