The Miami Hurricanes most exciting player wasn’t a player at all but a prop that inspiring the fan base, the team and particularly the defense. The turnover chain took South Florida and the College Football World by storm.

When the Miami Hurricanes forced a turnover the anticipation of the turnover chain coming out excited the crowd and the inspired the entire defense.

When Miami played at Hard Rock Stadium all eyes in the building were on the player that landed the turnover. Seeing the played get crowned with the turnover chain created a frenzy that would last into the Hurricanes offensive possession. Richt has said that his offense has had to go to had signals after a turnover because of the lingering noise.

Most Explosive-Jeff Thomas

After just four receptions for nine yards in the first four games, Thomas burst through with two catches for 78 yards against Georgia Tech. Thomas had a 70-yard reception to get Miami into the red zone against the Yellow Jackets.

On the season Thomas has seven receptions for 15 or more yards and four receptions for 20 or more yards. He is averaging 20.4 yards on 16 receptions. He has averaged 26.4 yards on his last 12 receptions. Those have come in Miami’s last eight games.
