Wisconsin’s defense has led the way during a 12-1 season. They play a ball control offense and rely on their defense to stymie opponents. The Miami Hurricanes offense hopes to get back on track against a very stingy Badgers defense.

In their first ten games of the season, the Miami Hurricanes offense scored 337 points. That would put Miami 26th in the nation in scoring.

They only scored 17 total points in their last two games against Pittsburgh and Clemson. Their grand total in their last 120 minutes of playing time is just over half of their average for the first ten games of the season.

The last two games of the season dropped the Miami Hurricanes to 56th nationally in scoring. A lot of the blame was placed on quarterback Malik’s Rosier inaccuracies throwing the football. The running game also struggled in the losses to Pittsburgh and Clemson.

The Hurricanes managed only 45 yards on 23 carries in the loss to the Panthers. They did much better against Clemson but only averaged 3.5 yards per carry. They finished with 105 yards on 30 attempts on the ground.

The Badgers have one of the best defenses in the country by any measure. They were the only team to finish in the top four in points allowed per game this season not to make the College Football Playoff. Alabama finished first, Clemson second and Georgia third in scoring defense this season. The Badgers finished third.

The Hurricanes have had issues with big physical defensive lines. While Miami will have the advantage with speed on both sides of the ball, the Badgers physicality will likely present problems for the Miami Hurricanes offensive line.
