Wisconsin has also had their own issues with injuries this season. Before the season even began the Badgers lost All-American linebacker Jack Cichy for the season with a torn ACL. Even without Cichy, Wisconsin still had arguably the Nation’s best defense in 2017.
Linebacker T.J. Edwards did just about everything for the Wisconsin defense on the way to earning first-team All-American status this season. Edwards finished the season with 75 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss two sacks, four interceptions, seven pass breakups and one interception return for a touchdown.
