Stacy Coley led the Miami Hurricanes in receptions in 2016 and tied with David Njoku for the team lead in touchdown receptions that season. Both moved on to the NFL this year.

Ahmmon Richards who led the Miami Hurricanes in receiving yards as a Freshman in 2016, dealt with a variety of injuries this season that limited his play. Tight end Chris Herndon IV also went down after Miami lost to Pittsburgh in the final game of the regular season. He suffered a torn MCL that caused him to miss the ACC Championship game against Clemson and the Orange Bowl against Wisconsin.

Miami had three new starters on the offensive line and all five linemen in new positions this season. K.C. McDermott and Trevor Darling were the two returning starters from 2016. They switched with each other from left tackle to left guard and vice versa.

Tyree St. Louis took over at right tackle from Sunny Odogwu who transferred to UCLA for his Senior season. Tyler Gauthier took over at center for Nick Linder who eventually announced he was transferring to Indiana.

True Freshman Navaughn Donaldson started ten of the Hurricanes 13 games at right guard. He could be headed to left tackle for the 2018 season.
