The Miami Hurricanes host the Syracuse Orange in an attempt to break a two-game losing streak. Miami is coming off losses at Boston College and at home Wednesday night against Virginia.

Saturday’s game is a big one for the Miami Hurricanes. The game against Syracuse is a quadrant two game under the NCAA’s new system of examining team resume for the NCAA Tournament.

Under the new system home games in the second quadrant are defined as teams 31 through 75 in the RPI. Syracuse is 49th entering Saturday’s game. Miami is currently 28th in the RPI. They have fallen from being as high as 19th about a week ago. The loss at Boston College, who is 82nd in the RPI hurt.

During the two-game losing streak, the Hurricanes have suffered from poor play from their three best healthy players Dewan Huell, Anthony Lawrence and Lonnie Walker. All three have failed to reach double figures in the losses to the Eagles and Cavaliers.

Huell has scored in double figures in only three of the last eight games. Two of those performances he barely reached the milestone with just 10 and 11 points. Lawrence has failed to reach double figures in the last three games. He had scored double figures in six of the previous seven.
