How did Miami Hurricanes grade out at NFL Combine?

Nine Miami Hurricanes participated in the NFL combine that concluded earlier this week in Indianapolis. Nine Miami Hurricanes were drafted in 2017.

All of the Miami Hurricanes that are eligible for this year’s draft were graded out in the fours and fives. A player scored as a 4.5-4.75 has a “Chance to be in an NFL training camp” according to NFL.Com.

Defensive tackle R.J. McIntosh graded out the highest among the Miami Hurricanes at 5.68. NFL.Com grades players between “5.50-5.99 Chance to become (an) NFL starter”. Chad Thomas was graded barely behind McIntosh at 5.67.

The other seven Miami players scored out at 5.56 for defensive tackle Kendrick Norton, 5.57 for tight end Chris Herndon, 5.56 for running back Mark Walton, wide receiver Braxton Berrios scored 5.39, cornerback Dee Delaney 4.82 and offensive lineman K.C. McDermott 4.9. Offensive lineman Trevor Darling and defensive end Trent Harris who led Miami in sacks last season were not invited to the combine.

"Thomas graded out as the seventh highest defensive end in this year’s draft. According to Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, Thomas’: “40-yard dash time (4.92 seconds) was 11th-best among all defensive linemen, and his broad jump (116 inches) was tied for seventh”"
