The Miami Hurricanes are likely to lose Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker to the NBA Draft, plus Senior Ja’Quan Newton. They have nine scholarship players returning for next season. With four scholarships look for Jim Larranaga to try and add a graduate transfer.

The Miami Hurricanes backcourt will be exceptionally thin in 2018-19.  What was a source of excellent depth in 2017-18 returns only two players adds one for 2018-19. Chris Lykes and Dejan Vasiljevic return and Miles Wilson will be eligible after sitting out this past season after transferring from Mount  Saint Mary’s.

There are several options for Jim Larranaga to pursue players who will be eligible who will be eligible immediately. Larranaga mentioned last season he wanted to add a big as a Graduate transfer.

Entering next season the Miami Hurricanes have good depth up front. They are more likely to look for a transfer in the backcourt who will be eligible to play immediately.

The highest profile transfer who would be eligible immediately is Evansville’s Ryan Taylor. Taylor is potentially one of seven Purple Aces who could seek to move on after this season.

He’s the only one that would be eligible to play immediately. Evansville fired Head Coach and alum Marty Simmons after 11 seasons and no NCAA Tournament appearances.
