Miami Hurricanes rising forward Dewan Huell has announced that he has entered his name for the NBA Draft but will not sign with an agent. Huell has until June 11 to withdraw his name if he decides to return to Miami for the 2018-19 season.

In a tweet posted on Monday afternoon, Huell said he arrived at his decision after meeting with Miami Hurricanes coaches and his family. Huell becomes the second Miami player to declare early for the draft after Bruce Brown did the same last month. Brown also left open a window to return by not signing with an agent.

Huell improved significantly over his Freshman season. He averaged 11.4 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. That was an improvement over 5.8 and 3.1 last season. Huell’s numbers went down after Brown missed the last 13 games of the season following foot surgery.

Huell was a McDonald’s All-American in 2015 who said he was contemplating leaving for the NBA following his Freshman season when it began in the Fall of 2016. He was recruited heavily by several blue blood programs that included Kansas, Louisville and North Carolina.
