Huell told the Miami Herald in January that he chose to play for the Miami Hurricanes because he wanted to help build a winner in his hometown. The Hurricanes finished third in the ACC this season.
Miami has not been able to match the Sweet 16 run that the 2016 team reached . The 2013 team set the stand for Miami basketball by reaching the Sweet 16 and winning the ACC regular season and Tournament titles.
"“I think it’s a good story, the hometown kid staying here and trying to build something in the city I love…A lot of local football players come to UM, but not too many basketball players. I hope I can help change that.”"
Miami has gone 0-2 in the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament in Huell’s two seasons. He was the only scholarship player on the team from South Florida the past two seasons. Miami will be without one if Huell decides to stay in the draft.
Huell is not projected to be selected in the NBA Draft. He did not indicate if that will make a difference in his decision to return to Miami or not. NBADraft.Net projects Huell to be selected 29th in the Draft in 2019 if he returns for his Junior season. That is two selections ahead of Brown.

Rising Sophomore Lonnie Walker has not made a decision yet on what he will do this year for the draft. Walker is expected to be selected between 10-20 in the draft.
