The Hurricanes success is definitely not fully dependent on Brown and Walker’s return. Walker is gone. Brown and Huell are question marks. Even if all three are gone the Hurricanes can compete if they stay healthy.

The Hurricanes lowest ACC Finish under Larranaga was tenth in 2014. It’s hard to imagine them not at least match that if not succeeding it. Syracuse finished 11th last season and advance to the Sweet 16 where they lost to ACC Rival Duke.

Syracuse.Com has the same profile as the Courier-Journal on the Hurricanes but projects them to finish ninth. While most seem to point to the key for the 2018-19 Hurricanes as Brown and Huell returning, it could be how well transfer guard Miles Wilson plays.

Wilson is likely to be Miami’s go to scorer with Lykes. He has proven he can score inside and out. He received valuable experience as a Freshmen when he played two NCAA Tournament games with Mount St. Mary’s.

Next season will be more of the type of team that Larranaga likes to coach. Even without Brown and Huell Miami will have an experienced team. Anthony Lawrence Jr and Ebuka Izundu give the Hurricanes two Senior and Dejan Vasiljevic enters his Junior season. Miami Basketball could surprise people next season.
