"“The [first-team offense] in the first half of the day had zero points and barely a first down. Defense did a great job.“There were quite a few sacks,…(tackles) got beat off the edge and it was over….In the second half the No. 1 O scored. The No. 2 O didn’t do as good.’’"

The Miami Hurricanes are going to have to get right tackle fixed. If Miami continues to struggle at the position they are going to need help from the running backs and tight ends in pass protection.

The addition of the nation’s top-ranked fullback in the class of 2018 Realus George and move of Trayone Gray to fullback should help in pass protection. Miami did not have a traditional fullback last season following the graduation of Marquez Williams after the 2016 season. Offensive lineman Corey Gaynor played fullback in short yardage last season.

Miami returns Brian Polendey and Michael Irvin II from 2017. Polendey is more adept at blocking than receiving at this point. Incoming Freshmen Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory are favored to start at tight end this fall. If they can block they should get the majority of the snaps.

Richt discussed the offensive line’s troubles thus far.

"“Guys that have got to learn to get off on the snap count…It’s been a problem all camp.”"

The defense had a team effort in dominating the offensive line. The star of the defense was Freshman Greg Rosseau.
