The unofficial official stats according to Richt credited Rosseau with leading or tying for the team lead with seven tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks. Rosseau did his damage with the second team.

Other players who played with the second team who had impacts during the scrimmage were defensive end Scott Patchan with three sacks, middle linebacker Bradley Jennings with seven tackles and two tackles for loss, and cornerback Gilbert Frierson had a four tackles, one tackle for loss and had a 15-yard interception return.

On the first team starters, linebacker Shaq Quarterman had five tackles and pass breakup and cornerback Michael Jackson had four tackles and pass breakup. The defense as a whole recorded nine sacks and had two interceptions.

The defense set the tone early according to Richt.

"“Defense definitely came out and kicked butt in the first half, second half, offense — on the [first unit] anyway — had the best of it,…It was a good battle. Like I told the offense, last year, we had like 50 yards against Florida State in the first half and then [we] had close to 300 yards, or whatever it was, in the second half. The game, day’s not over yet. So they did a better job.”"

This coming week of practice should be a key one for the offensive line. Today’s scrimmage was closed to the public and the media. If the o-line struggles next week it will generate a lot of talk.
