Jim Larranaga says Brown and Walker’s early entrees sends message to recruits

Lonnie Walker and Bruce Brown potential as first-round picks in this year’s NBA Draft send an important message to recruits that they can come to Miami and make their NBA dreams a reality according to Head Coach Jim Larranaga.

That sends an important message to players who are considering playing College Basketball for the Miami Hurricanes. Head Coach Jim Larranaga discussed the importance during the press conference to announce his extension on Monday. If you want an opportunity to develop into an NBA talent Miami is a good destination for young men to grow and develop into NBA Players.

Larranaga made this observation when it was announced on Tuesday that he was signed to a two-year contract extension. That coupled with Brown and Walker’s decision to turn pro and sign with an agent keeping them in the NBA Draft should help Larranaga and his staff recuit in the future.

Both are important steps for the Miami basketball program. They lost ground this year in recruiting because of the FBI scandal that Miami was implicated in last fall. Miami has no players signed or verbally committed for the class of 2018. Larranaga discussed what it means to the Miami Basketball Program for Brown and Walker to be on the verge of making program history.
