Miami Hurricanes coaches want Malik Rosier’s leadership and accuracy to improve

"[The defense] got to us a few times and I think it got to us mentally…So we were rushing throws, we were doing things we don’t normally do. We have to understand that the next pocket is going to be perfect, and we have to trust it, trust our line and trust our teammates and be able to stand in there and rip the ball when the opportunity presents itself.”"

During Saturday’s first scrimmage the defense dominated the offense during the first half. The defense accumulated nine sacks for the entire game. Some of that can be attributed to the quarterbacks not being allowed to be tackled. Freshman defensive end Greg Rousseau accumulated four of the nine sacks.

Mark Richt and Offensive Line Coach Stacy Searles were not happy with the protection that the quarterbacks received during Saturday’s scrimmage. Jon Richt discussed how he’s feeling about the quarterbacks.

"“I’m satisfied with all my guys, but at the same time there’s a difference between doing what you’re supposed to do and doing what you have to do…We’re learning what we’ve got to do to win. Right now some of the young guys like Jarren and N’Kosi, those guys are just figuring out, ‘Hey on this play, I got to mic this guy and read this guy and throw it to that guy…"
