"“They even tweeted that I was frustrated, and I was. You know, [Tyler] Gauthier did an outstanding job. Once we put him in there, we took it down, we scored, we did a good job over there…What it is is we have to find five guys we trust. And that’s the process right now.”"

The Miami Hurricanes have recruited two strong classes in a row of offensive linemen. They are still young and learning though.

Navaughn Donaldson started ten games last season at right guard. He was named a true Freshmen All-American by ESPN. Being able to play as a true Freshman on the offensive line is rare. Donaldson could potentially be a candidate at right tackle according to Searles.

"“Navaughn [Donaldson] got some reps out there today (Tuesday) and looked good at tackle also, so we will see who ends up being the best five. … I wouldn’t say anybody’s ‘first team’ right now. Navaughn [Donaldson] worked [right tackle] today. George [Brown] has worked it the first nine practices – what is this, day 10? – now we are looking at trying to get a little better.”"

Searles was asked by Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post if the move of Donaldson to right tackle was serious.

"“You think we’ll come out here and practice it and not be serious about it?…If he’s at tackle, it’s serious. It’s serious. … It’s based on [the fact that] we want to protect our quarterback. And we are going to put the best five out there to protect our quarterback.”"
