Miami Hurricanes baseball travels to number eight Clemson

The Miami Hurricanes travel to number eight Clemson this weekend. They have losses in seven of their last eight games. Miami enters the weekend 13-19 overall and 7-8 in the ACC, fourth in the Coastal Division.

The Tigers are 25-8 overall and 10-5 in the ACC. That’s second in the Atlantic, a game behind North Carolina State. Although ranked eighth in the country, Clemson is sixth in the RPI. The Tigers are the highest ranked team that the Miami Hurricanes will play in Conference this season. Miami took won one games in a three game series when they hosted top-ranked Florida  in February.

Miami doesn’t play North Carolina State this season. The Wolfpack is ranked fourth in the country and 12th in the RPI. NC State impressively swept Clemson on the road last month.

The Miami Hurricanes pitching staff is going to have to pitch well this weekend. Clemson has one of the nation’s most powerful lineups. The Tigers are tenth nationally in home runs. They have hit 45 long balls in 33 games this season. NC State is fifth.

Tigers first baseman Seth Beer who is expected to be a first round draft pick is tenth in the country with ten home runs. Beer is hitting .283 and also has 25 RBIs.
