Malik Rosier still has clear edge as Miami Hurricanes QB
After the second scrimmage and deciphering Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt’s thought’s it’s clear that incumbent Malik Rosier continues to have a clear edge to retain the starting quarterback job this fall.
The biggest criticism of Rosier has been his lack of accuracy. That was the case for Redshirt Freshman N’Kosi Perry on well on Saturday in the Miami Hurricanes Spring Football game. Freshman Jarren Williams did a bit better completing his passes on Saturday.
It seems like the quarterback job is Rosier’s to lose. The Miami Herald’s Susan Miller Degnan called the quarterback race too close to call.
On their call of the game on Saturday the Miami Hurricanes announcing team of Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey Junior said they don’t see how Rosier doesn’t at least start the season as the starting quarterback. That’s what Canes Warning has been saying throughout the Spring as well.
It’s difficult for a player that has been on campus one or two years to beat out a fifth-year incumbent Senior who just led your program to their best season in 13 years.
Rosier will always have the distinction of leading the Miami Hurricanes to the program’s first ACC Coastal Division Crown and appearance in an ACC Championship game.
While he struggled down the stretch last season Rosier also played well enough to lead Miami to ten wins. Zagacki and Bailey mentioned on the broadcast that the Clemson fanbase wants a change at quarterback as well.
