Frankie Zamora’s two-RBI single in the top of the ninth plated the first two runs of the comeback. Hunter Tackett bookended the comeback with a two-out, two-run double that scored Michael Burns and Isaac Quinones to tie the score.  Zamora had the game-winning single in the 12th that scored pinch runner Kam Lane.

The series clincher could not have been more different. Evan McKendry returned to his early-season dominance after a few bad starts. The Sophomore Right-Hander went the distance allowing one run on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts. McKendry improved to 5-4 with the victory.

Seven of the nine Miami Hurricanes hitters had a hit in the game. Willy Escala was the only Miami player with a multiple hit game with two. Romy Gonzalez started at third base and went one for four with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Clemson’s seven-run fifth in the series finale knocked out Miami starter Andrew Cabezas. Cabezas lasted 5.2 innings allowing eight runs, seven earned on six hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. He fell to 3-4 with the loss. Clemson starter Jake Higginbotham shut down Miami over 7.1 innings in the victory.

Quinones and Michael Amditis combined for half of Miami’s eight hits. Williams hit his second grand slam in as many days to break the game open. That gave the Tigers an 8-2 lead.
