McGusty is wearing number 20 in the tweet he posted announcing his decision to attend Miami. Does that give us an indication that Dewan Huell is staying in the NBA Draft? It could merely be the fact that McGusty wore number 20 at Oklahoma.

McGusty was highly rated recruit out of Katy, Texas in the Class of 2016. USA Today had him 35th in their composite recruiting rankings. That was three spots ahead of former Miami Guard Bruce Brown. McGusty was listed as the sixth-best shooting guard in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.Com.

Some of the other names that were ranked below McGusty include Virginia’s Ty Jerome, North Carolina’s Seventh Woods and former Gonzaga star Zach Collins.

McGusty started 17 games as a Freshman in 2016-17. He only started eight this season as Trae Young started every game as a Freshman in his only season playing for Lon Kruger. Because of that McGusty’s numbers went down last season.

Next: Miami Hurricanes land Wyoming transfer Anthony Mack

McGusty’s addition to the Miami Hurricanes roster should solidify the backcourt for the next three years. Everyone on the UM basketball roster but Vasiljevic has eligibility through 2020-21.
