Miami Hurricanes fans need to accept that Malik Rosier is starting QB
"“(Rosier) functions better when he knows somebody is right behind him…He just functions better…He practices better. He focuses better…So, OK, we’ll compete. And if you need to throw somebody else in there, we’ll do it.”"
Sheriffs was the only competition that Rosier had last season. Cade Weldon and Perry were redshirting. The coaches and his teammates know what Rosier can do. He knows where to go with the ball, how to call audibles at the line of scrimmage and not panic under pressure or adversity.
"“(Rosier) knows and everybody knows that he knows what to do. That’s a huge part of leadership. All the things we need to do to help ourselves have the very best play possible, he can do all those things.’’"
Many fans want to blame Rosier and think that Perry or Williams will magically lead Miami to a National Championship because of quarterback play either have pixie dust or we have some ocean front property in Orlando to sell them.
No matter who is under center in 2018 if the line play isn’t improved it won’t make a difference. Rosier will also handle the inconsistencies of poor line play better than the young quarterbacks on the roster. Richt discussed the importance of line protection.
