It’s often said that we are the hardest on ourselves. Although that might not be true in the case of Miami Hurricanes quarterback Malik Rosier, he was still hard on his own performance in the Spring game.

Rosier has taken constant criticism and unfair blame for the Miami Hurricanes losses in the last three games of the 2017 season. Poor performances by the running game against Pittsburgh and Clemson, inconsistency by the offensive line and an inability for the defense to hold a 14-3 lead contributed mightily to Miami’s late-season collapse.

Rosier has shown throughout the Spring that he is in a far better position to lead Mark Richt’s offense than his challengers, Redshirt Freshmen N’Kosi Perry and True Freshman Jarren Williams.

Rosier spoke to the press for the first time this Spring. He graded his own performance in the Spring game and spoke about Perry’s and Williams progress.

Rosier finished nine of 14 for 105 yards in Saturday’s Spring Game. The 64.3 percent completion percentage was encouraging after he completed 46 percent of his passes in the final three games last season.

Given that he was the starter last season and backup to Brad Kaaya in 2016, Rosier has earned the trust of his teammates. He spoke about that with the press.

"“A lot of the linemen trust me…The receivers trust me. … I think I’m doing good. My accuracy rating needs to go up, but other than that I’m doing fine.”"
