ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay projects Miami Hurricanes draft projects Miami Hurricanes draft prospects Chad Thomas, Braxton Berrios and R.J. McIntosh to be selected in the third through fifth rounds of this year’s NFL Draft.

Nine Miami Hurricanes are prospects for this year’s NFL Draft. Not all of them are going to be selected. The focus was on the three players that were mentioned by Todd McShay. The discussion of where the Miami players might be selected came during a conference call McShay held with reporters.

Todd McShay’s projections have McIntosh being selected in the third round, Thomas as a “later fourth round” pick and Berrios going in the fourth or fifth round.

McIntosh, fellow defensive tackle Kendrick Norton and Walton all left a year early to pursue their NFL dreams. McIntosh and Norton were multiple year starters at defensive tackle that will be tough to replace this fall.

He oddly did not mention Mark Walton who some have speculated could be Miami’s best NFL Prospect. Walton was headed towards a second straight all-conference season before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Florida State.

McShay seems to be very high on McIntosh. He projects him in the third round and seems to think the former UM defensive tackle could go higher. Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post quoted McShay as saying about McIntosh:

"“Probably in that third-round range for me…at least (that high)…He’s a good player…I think he can continue to develop. He had certainly flashes this past year. He and Norton, obviously they had a good defensive front. They did some good things. Their best game was probably, as a whole, against Notre Dame. They gave them all sorts of trouble…For me, at least, McIntosh would be in the third round,”"
