He leads the Panthers in all of the aforementioned categories except batting average. The only other player the Miami pitching seemingly needs to worry about is Freshman outfielder Ron Washington Jr.

Miami won two out of three in the Steel City last year. After dropping the opener 10-3, the Hurricanes came back with 5-3 and 2-1 victories. Every game is a must from here on out if the Hurricanes want to avoid a second straight season out of the NCAA Tournament.

Miami seems to have a huge advantage in Friday night’s series opener. Miami throws Jeb Bargfeldt who is 2-3 with a 4.26 ERA. The Panthers counter with Dan Hammerer who is 2-2, 9.67.
