The Miami Hurricanes have been one of the most dominant programs in the NFL Draft. The Hurricanes have set numerous NFL Draft records.

We can add one more record to the list. NFL.Com ranked the best player in each first-round draft slot. The Miami Hurricanes came out on top with seven players rated the best ever in the slot they were selected in.

The group reads like a who’s who among NFL and Miami Hurricanes greats. The seven players had one quarterback, two wide receivers, one tight end, one defensive lineman, one linebacker and one safety.

Any franchise that would be able to start their teams with these seven would be in a great position. The list includes three Hall of Famers, one that will be inducted this summer, another Hall of Fame lock, a third that should get there in time and one of the greatest players at his position during his era.

Jim Kelly, Michael Irvin and Warren Sapp have already seen their busts inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Ray Lewis will join them this summer.

Former UM Safety Ed Reed will be eligible next year and Reggie Wayne should get there eventually. Greg Olsen is one of the best active tight ends in the NFL and will be borderline Hall of Famer someday.
