11 Michael Irvin WR Dallas Cowboys 1988

Michael Irvin is the highest player selected on this list. Some consider him the best wide receiver in Miami Hurricanes history. Irvin held the Cowboys all-time records for receptions and receiving yards when he retired in because of a neck injury after the 1999 season.

Irvin had 750 receptions for 11,904 receiving yards and 65 touchdowns in his NFL Career. Dallas tight end Jason Witten recently broke Irvin’s records.

Irvin’s nickname was the playmaker and he always seemed to make the big play when needed most. Playing in a run-first offense, Irvin produced gaudy post season numbers. In 16 career playoff games, Irvin had 87 receptions for 1,315 yards and eight touchdowns.

Irvin’s biggest postseason game came in a Cowboys loss. He recorded 12 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns as Dallas was eliminated in the NFC Championship game following the 1994 season. What was most impressive about that performance is that it came against his future teammate Deion Sanders.

In three Superbowls, all Dallas wins, Irvin recorded 16 receptions for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Irvin’s best Superbowl performance was his first.

The playmaker had six receptions for 116 yards and two TDs. Irvin celebrated a second title with former Miami Hurricanes legendary Coach Jimmy Johnson in a 52-17 rout of Buffalo Bills.
