Miami Hurricanes hope to prevent FSU’s Martin from setting record
The record is important to Martin, but he knows his team can’t overlook a talented but struggling Miami Hurricanes.
"“For me to say, ‘Oh, this doesn’t mean anything to me,’ y’all know better than that…But I think what we’ve got to look at is the importance of one game, and that’s Friday. We can’t get ahead of ourselves. We know what Miami can do.”"
The series matches two of the top seven winningest coaches in the history of college baseball. Morris has 1,566 wins in his career. Martin has a .737 career winning percentage to Morris’ .694. Morris had the advantage of having led the Hurricanes to titles in 1999 and 2001.
The Hurricanes inconsistency has continued recently. After winning two of three at top 15 Clemson two weeks ago Miami dropped two of three last weekend at home against Pittsburgh. They followed that up with a 14-6 loss to Florida International on Wednesday.
