Several Miami Hurricanes sign undrafted free agent contracts
Several Miami Hurricanes players that were not selected in the NFL Draft have signed free agent contracts according to multiple sources. Some on the list include K.C. McDermott, Michael Badgley, Dee Delaney, Trent Harris and Anthony Moten.
Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt tweeted out at the end of the NFL Draft that “It looks like six more of our players will sign free-agent contracts very soon!” The sixth player could be Trevor Darling who will receive a tryout with the Cleveland Browns per Darling’s representation with the C&N Sports Group.
McDermott and Delaney signed as free agents with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Badgley with the Indianapolis Colts, Trent Harris will join New England Patriots draftee Braxton Berrios in trying to impress Bill Belichick, and defensive tackle Anthony Moten will stay in South Florida with the Dolphins.
Per the timeline from the Palm Beach Post’s Matt Porter Badgley was the first to sign. Porter posted the news about Badgley about an hour after the draft ended. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson also broke the news about Badgley via twitter.
With future Hall of Famer Adam Vinatieri already with the Colts Badgley will have a tough time making the roster. His strength is accuracy. Vinatieri is the 13th most accurate kicker in NFL History.
