The next to sign was McDermott. He heads to Jacksonville where he will join former Miami Hurricanes offensive linemen Brandon Linder. Linder began his career at right guard. He has primarily played center the last two seasons.

McDermott has similar versatility. He started at left guard and left tackle during his final two years with the Miami Hurricanes. Jacksonville added two other offensive linemen via the draft and college free agency.

  • The Jaguars drafted Will Richardson in the fourth round. They also signed his college teammate Tony Adams as a free agent.  McDermott will have to hope that his versatility will earn him a spot on the Jaguars roster. They have a largely inexperienced and journeymen filled roster on the offensive line.

Linebacker Trent Harris became the next Hurricane off the board. Harris’ mom Betsy made the announcement via Twitter.

Harris had an extremely productive Senior season. He can be an exceptional pass rush specialist in the NFL.

He projects as a defensive end in a 4-3 defense or has the potential to play rush linebacker in a 3-4. Harris led Miami last season with 8.5 sacks. He had 10.5 tackles for loss.
