2019 NFL Draft could be Miami Hurricanes best since 2007
The Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller is one of the most thorough Draft prognosticators. He projects three Hurricanes to be selected in the first round. Miller has Joe Jackson going 16th overall to the Kansas City Chiefs as an edge rusher, Michael Jackson to the Seattle Seahawks at 18 and Richards to the Packers at 26.
Miller is very high on Joe Jackson. His praise of Jackson is someone that you would expect to be selected higher in the draft. Miller thinks that Jackson is ready to step out and be one of the better players selected in 2019.
"“An ideal fit in a 3-4 scheme. He has length and athleticism and uses both well to beat and bend offensive tackles around the edge. He’s a bit of a project, but if his 2018 season goes as planned, he’ll be one of the draft’s prized players in 2019.”"
The Packers added three wide receivers on the final day of the draft this year. If none of them pan out Green Bay might be looking for a significant upgrade at wideout in the 2019 draft. They lost Jordy Nelson to free agency this offseason.
The talent that Richt is accumulating in South Florida is impressive. Next year’s Senior Miami Hurricanes Senior Class is the last one recruited by Al Golden. It’s also Richt’s first recruiting class that will be eligible for the NFL draft.

Miami’s best ever draft classes produced 11 picks. While possible, it’s not likely Miami will reach that number. The class of 2019 will have a good chance to match the nine players selected in 2017 and the three first-round picks of 2007.
