D.J. Johnson came to Miami as the 75th best recruit in the country and sixth best defensive end. He was the third highest ranked recruit in the Miami Football Class of 2017.

Johnson finished 2017 with one tackle. He transferred to Oregon after the season. Garvin was the 265th best player overall and eighth-best defensive end in the class of 2017.

Rosseau came to Miami Football as the 486th player in the Class of 2018. He was the 27th ranked defensive end and 80th best player in Florida. Rousseau is the lowest ranked player of the early enrollees for Miami Football in the Class of 2018.

He has already shown what he can do. Rosseau and Garvin will be a part of an impressive rotation Miami will have at defensive end this fall. Garvin and Rousseau will major roles in the defensive end rotation. Rousseau gives Miami Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz a lot of versatility. He can also be a rush linebacker if the Hurricanes decide to use a 3-4.

Talking to Rose and co-host Zack Krantz, Richt didn’t give all the credit to his potential star Freshman. It hasn’t been a secret that the offensive line has struggled this spring. Richt and offensive line coach Stacy Searles have been frustrated with the play of the offensive line. Richt reiterated that when asked about Rosseau’s success.

"“A lot of time the right tackle was getting beat on the snap”"
