Taking painkillers would be devastating to Henderson’s intestines which have already had 80 centimeters removed because it was diseased. Henderson’s agent Brian Fettner discussed Henderson’s issues with NFL.Com’s Ian Rappaport. The interview came after Henderson received a ten game suspension from the NFL.

"“There is zero allowable medical exemption for this per the NFL; however, there clearly should be.”"

Rappaport quoted another unidentified source.

"“He needs cannabis. You can’t take pain killers with the way his intestines are.”"

Henderson and James both had petitioned to receive Therapeutic Use Exemptions to use marijuana as a painkiller rejected. James told Gupta that without being able to use marijuana as a painkiller that his “career is a great risk.”

James wanted to do everything he could to stay away from Marijuana and other drugs. He told CNN.

"“Drugs tore up my family. I wanted to just play football, go to school, stay in my books, not get into any trouble.”"

James is the type of player that the NFL should be promoting. He is not a superstar but is a family man that clearly understands the dangers of drugs.
