Like Miami, Florida State could have a quarterback battle on their hands. The Seminoles don’t have the certainty at the position like Miami has with Rosier. Last year’s starter James Blackman, 2016 starter Deondre Francois and redshirt Freshman Bailey Hockman are all in the running to earn the starting position.

Some would argue that having two quarterbacks on the roster with the playing time that Blackman and Francois have will be good for the Seminoles. Which one gives them a better chance to win?

Francois had 3,350 yards passing and 20 touchdowns in 2016 with another 198 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He threw just seven interceptions. Florida State finished the season 10-3 and won the Orange Bowl.

Blackman led Florida State during a disastrous 2017 season for the Seminoles. He had 2,230 passing yards,19 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. Blackman is not the runner that Rosier or Francois are. He lost a total of 39 yards on 64 attempts with no touchdowns. Sacks finish into that total.

Rosier’s numbers were more well rounded. Although the 14 interceptions led the ACC, his 26-14 touchdown to interception rate was good. He also added the five rushing touchdowns and 468 yards on the ground.

Athlon is concerned with the turnovers and completion percentage. They mention that Redshirt Freshman N’Kosi Perry and True Freshman Jarren Williams put Rosier’s starting job in jeopardy.
