Miami is currently 63rd in the RPI. They moved down after being 59th last week. They missed out on a chance for a big win when their game against Stetson was rained out. The Hatters are currently eighth in the RPI.

Stetson was seventh when the teams were scheduled to play last Tuesday. The last game in the series against Boston College was also rained out.

Now Miami gets ready to face Notre Dame in the opener of the ACC Tournament. The Fighting Irish are 24-28 overall. They finished 12-18 and in fifth place in the Atlantic Division of the ACC.

Notre Dame enters the ACC Tournament with the second worst pitching staff in the conference. They have a team ERA of 5.49, had the fewest strikeouts in the conference with 347 and allowed the third most hits with 466.

Notre Dame’s hitting was much better. The Fighting Irish were fifth in the ACC with a .274 team batting average. They struggled to score runs though. Notre Dame finished 11th in the ACC with 293 runs scored.

Miami was 13th with 252. The Hurricanes have been hitting the ball much better during their winning streak. Getting top hitter Danny Reyes back has been a big boost.

Andrew Cabezas will get the start for Miami against Notre Dame’s Scott Tully. Cabezas is 6-4 with a 4.12 ERA, Tully 5-1, 4.40.
