The Miami Hurricanes are the only school in the country to have ten game winning streaks in football, basketball and baseball this school year. The Football and basketball teams began their seasons with ten game streaks and the baseball team has gotten hot at the end.

The Miami Hurricanes football team’s streak to begin the 2017 season extended what was a five-game winning streak entering the season to 15. It also propelled them to second in the College Football Playoff rankings. Losses to Pittsburgh, Clemson and Wisconsin to end the end turned the streak in the wrong direction.

Season-ending injuries to running back Mark Walton, tight end Chris Herndon IV and wide receiver Ahmmon Richards depleted the Hurricanes depth in the skill positions on offense. Miami lost Walton in the fourth game of the season against Florida State.

Herndon was hurt in the final regular season game against Pittsburgh and Richards was hurt during the week of practice for the ACC Championship game after the loss to the Panthers.

Travis Homer did a great job replacing Walton. He ran for nearly 1,000 yards despite starting only nine games. The Hurricanes had to move Freshman DeeJay Dallas to running back to add depth.

Behind Homer and Dallas there wasn’t much in the offensive backfield to help Miami in the running game. Quarterback Malik Rosier picked up some of the slack in the ground game.
