What was projected to be the best Miami team in school history finished 22-10 and tied for third with an 11-7 record in the ACC. Despite getting a double bye in the ACC Tournament, the Hurricanes lost to North Carolina in the quarterfinals.

The Hurricanes season ended less than a week later with a loss to Loyola Chicago in the NCAA Tournament. The sixth-seeded Hurricanes loss to the 11th seeded Ramblers propelled Loyola to their first Final Four in 55 years.

After a 10-1 loss at Florida State on April 28 the Miami baseball team dropped to 17-25 overall and 10-13 in the ACC. They seemed destined for their first losing season in over 50 yards.

The Hurricanes salvaged the final game of a three-game series in Tallahassee with an 11-5 victory. They have not lost since.

Miami has three-game sweeps over Bethune-Cookman and Virginia Tech a two-game sweep over Boston College and single-game victories over Stetson and Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament. Scheduled games against Boston College and Florida Gulf Coast were rained out.

The Hurricanes finished 16-13 in the ACC and 27-25 overall in the regular season after the victories over the Eagles. The win over Notre Dame kept alive hopes of making the NCAA Tournament.
