A lot of that was attributable to Brown missing the last 13 games of the season with a foot injury. Huell’s numbers decreased further with his classmate out. He averaged just 7.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG in 24 MPG over the Hurricanes last 12 games.

Huell was not invited to the NBA Combine in Chicago earlier this month. According to the Sun-Sentinel, Huell had a workout with the Atlanta Hawks.

At 6’11 220 Huell is going to have to bulk up over the next season and work on his perimeter game for the next level. He has taken only five three-point shots in two seasons in college. At his current weight, he would likely get pushed around in the NBA. He is going to need the perimeter game the way the game is currently played at the next level.

Huell is going to also have to be more assertive offensively. He has the athletic skills and frame to be an All-ACC player. Huell is the second highest ranked player in the ACC from the high school class of 2016 that will play his Junior season in college. Duke’s Marques Bolden is first.

Next: Miami basketball one of 5 finalists for Hurricanes legacy Vernon Carey Jr.

He is third in the country behind Bolden and Michigan State’s Josh Langford who was one sport ahead of Huell. Huell needs to produce to that level in 2018-19 for Miami to equal or exceed their third-place finish in the ACC and 22nd Nationally.
