Georgia Tech always presents issues with their triple option. Miami is familiar with it being in the same ACC Division as the Yellow Jackets. Mark Richt also knows it well having faced it while at Georgia and now Miami. It’s still difficult to stop.

Miami barely survived against Georgia Tech last season. They might have had a shocking home loss if not for a miracle fourth down reception on the game-winning drive by Darrell Langham.

The Hurricanes defense held Georgia Tech to 226 yards on 53 carries in last season’s win. That was 81 yards below their 2017 per game average. The Yellow Jackets 4.26 yards per carry was also below their 5.35 YPC average.

Georgia Tech returns quarterback Taquon Marshall and running back KirVonte Benson. Both players ran for over 1,000 yards last season. Marshall had 17 rushing touchdowns and Benson added six.

This year could be different for Mark Richt’s team. Miami didn’t have a lot of hype surrounding them last year until November. This season the expectations are much higher from the beginning of the year.
