Miami basketball alum Lonnie Walker continued to soar through the NBA Summer League with his second straight stellar performance. Walker showed a versatile game as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Washington Wizards 95-90 on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.

Lonnie Walker was second on Spurs and led their backcourt with 14 points. He added five rebounds two assists and three steals. Walker’s shooting was much better against Washington but still needs work. The pride of Reading, Pennsylvania was five of 13 from the floor, split his two three-point attempts and made all three of his free throws.

Walker is joined on San Antonio by another former Hurricanes guard, Trey McKinney-Jones. The veteran professional basketball player didn’t fare as well on Sunday.

McKinney-Jones had six points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal. The former Fort Wayne Mad Ant shot two of eight from the floor, missed both of his three-point attempts and made both free throws. McKinney-Jones is trying to earn a spot in training camp with the Spurs after playing with Fort Wayne this past season.

After sitting out Golden State’s last game, Miami basketball alum Rion Brown played 12 minutes off the bench on Sunday. Brown did not score, missing all three of his shots from the floor. He did add four rebounds, including one of the offensive end, one assist, one steal and one block.
