The Miami basketball alums have finished their scheduled games at the NBA Summer League. Lonnie Walker was the only former Hurricanes basketball player in action on Tuesday.

The remaining games in Las Vegas on Tuesday night do not involve former Miami basketball players. The Lakers and Knicks game was the last scheduled game in the NBA Summer League. The Tournament portion of the schedule will start later this week. Six Miami basketball alums are playing in the NBA Summer League.

The Hurricanes youngest player in Las Vegas, Walker was the only Miami basketball alum in action on Tuesday. Walker started, played 25 minutes and had nearly an identical stat line to his performance on Sunday. San Antonio had Monday off.

Walker scored 12 points on five-of-13 from the floor and made both of his three-point attempts. He had 14 points on five-of-13 shooting on Sunday. Walker also contributed three rebounds and one assist. He had three turnovers and four fouls.

  • Trey McKinney-Jones is the second Hurricanes alum playing for San Antonio this summer. McKinney-Jones had his best game of the summer league on Tuesday.

Playing 21 minutes off the bench the former Hurricanes guard scored 11 points and had five rebounds, three assists and two steals. McKinney-Jones was five-of-10 from the floor and made one of his three three-point attempts. He also had three turnovers and six personal fouls. Players do not foul out in the summer league.

The other four Miami basketball alums were all in action on Monday. Bruce Brown finished up his first foray into Summer League basketball. Brown and the Detroit Pistons defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 105-97 in their last game before the tournament.

Brown started at shooting guard and scored 12 points in 20 minutes. Like Walker, Brown continues to struggle with his shot. Brown was two-of-six from the floor and missed his only three-point attempt. Like any good scorer, he was able to get to the free throw line where he made all eight of his attempts.

Brown also contributed four rebounds, one offensive. He kept his mistakes to a minimum. Brown had one foul and one turnover.

The second Miami basketball alum to play on Monday was Rion Brown. Brown and the Golden State Warriors were crushed by the Dallas Mavericks 91-71. Their summer league roster is a far cry from the one Golden State has in the regular season.

Brown only played nine minutes off the bench. He had three points and two rebounds, one offensive. He missed all four of his shots from the floor and both of his three-point attempts. Brown did make all three of his free throws.

Davon Reed has been playing well for the Phoenix Suns this summer. That continued on Monday night. Starting at the two, Reed scored 10 points on four-of-10 from the floor, made two of his five three-point attempts and had four rebounds and three assists. Phoenix defeated Orlando 71-53.

The last of the former Hurricanes in action on Monday was Kamari Murphy. Murphy played 21 minutes off the Brooklyn Nets bench scoring eight points. He was three-of-seven from the floor, missed his only three-point shot and split four free throws. Murphy also had ten rebounds, three offensive, two assists, one steal and a block.
