Didn’t lose an ACC Game

It was a tough task for Florida State and Virginia Tech to face each other in the season opener. Miami and Florida State did so frequently in the 2000s. One team was going to come out with a huge win while the other was behind the eight ball.

Florida State had a lot of pressure entering week one. They were at home, in an ACC game in Head Coach Willie Taggart’s debut. The 24-3 loss to the Hokies meant the Seminoles began the 2018 season in last place in the ACC Atlantic.

After last season’s 2-4 start in the conference, including three straight home losses, the fans in Tallahassee are going to start becoming irrational about their coaching staff.

There has been a lot of talk this offseason from FSU supporters about how much more talent the Seminoles have than Miami. They need to prove that on the field.

Getting a game behind in the ACC, especially when you are in the same division with Clemson makes for a long season ahead. The three biggest games for Florida State this season were billed as Virginia Tech, Clemson and Miami. The Seminoles also travel to Notre Dame in November.

Florida State will host the Tigers on October 27. Sandwiched in between their trip to South Bend and hosting the Tigers is a trip to Raleigh to play North Carolina State. The Wolfpack won in Tallahassee last season.
